Local Information
Cambridge is where the charm and elegance of university combines with hi-tech industry and commerce. The meeting of Town and Gown serve to provide the city with a unique culture, charm and atmosphere.
The Lensfield Hotel has become a relaxing, well-appointed sanctuary for business travellers, visitors from overseas and many college undergraduates and their parents. The building dates back to around 1850 and is centrally situated a few hundred yards from the university, leisure and shopping amenities. The owners take pride in giving friendly and efficient service to all guests – and are always available to provide local information.
During many years of hosting visitors to Cambridge, we have found that there are recurring areas of common interest in Cambridge.
For those residents with the time to enjoy the attractions of the city, there are fine college buildings and architecture, museums, university Botanic Gardens and the river.
As well as offering a whole range of activities in and around the city, there are also superb National Trust houses and gardens at Wimpole Hall and Anglesey Abbey both within 20 minutes drive from the Lensfield Hotel. Europe’s Premier Aviation Museum and Heritage Complex, the Imperial War Museum at Duxford where historic and flying displays can be enjoyed is a short drive away.
Easy access to the M11 and M25 motorways, and the mainline railways station mean that guests are ideally placed for business or pleasure.
